Join Hands With Girish And Help Him Build A Shelter For 860+ Stray Dogs

“The summers are here and the very thought of going out in this heat worries us. We try to avoid as much as it’s possible. Now think about the stray dogs who have no other choice but to go out in this weather for food and water. To make things worse, these strays are often shooed away by people - the ones hiding under the cars, get run over. It breaks my heart when I see these helpless animals suffer so much,” - Girish Anjenappa, Animal Activist.  

Girish currently takes care of 860+ injured and abandoned strays. He has been doing the best he can to give them a life of comfort and happiness for the last 7 years. But the need is ever-increasing and Girish is struggling to save all of them. 

With little love and care, they can live a life of fulfillment  

Girish talks of the innumerable number of strays that roam the streets of Bangalore and how they brave the rain, the heat, and the cold. 

“We hear of so many cases when the humans have beaten these animals to death because they dared to run after them for food. We also see old and sick dogs by the sides of the road yet no one feels the need to pick them up and look after them. I have never had a shelter of my own for the longest time. So one of the major problems I faced was continuing the treatment of the injured strays. They would go out on the streets and get injured once again.” 

A few years ago, an NGO gave him space to run a shelter home and that’s how he has been saving hundreds of injured strays and giving them a new lease of life. The paralysed dogs who can no longer survive in the streets are now permanent residents of this shelter. Girish spends his days and nights treating them, giving them protein-rich food and supplements. Now he wants to build a safe home for these animals but it would be difficult for him to do this alone.
